I've been away too long. But I have eye candy!
Hi all,
What can I say, a new job, a little new time consuming craziness. What I will say is the best decision I've made in years. I'm so, so, so blessed!! It was such a blessing to not get the other job. It is also great to be at my new campus. So far it is a mellow place. It has it share of goofy, but nothing alarming.
The kids are very mellow, also. Of course, they complain about every assignment, but get right to it for the most part.
Enough shop talk. Check out my other blog to see what is happening while I transition back to the classroom.
I made some pendants this morning just to get my hands back on some beads and such. The first is a repurposed bead combo that I never fully liked in its other configuration. This, I feel, is much more wearable. Simple with some stations.

NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT: EYE CANDY. :D
I made some pendants this morning just to get my hands back on some beads and such. The first is a repurposed bead combo that I never fully liked in its other configuration. This, I feel, is much more wearable. Simple with some stations.
I chopped up some flower canes from Naama Zamir and added some daisy cane beads from Elaine Robataille. All in all, I'm very pleased.
Here is a photo of the station details.
The photo is a little fuzzy, sorry, but you get the idea. Funky with a little glam action because of the pearls.
Lastly, I finally assembled my spinner pendants. I'm going to make more of these in solid colors. I have always like jewelry that has moving parts, other than dangles and these spinners hit the spot for me.
That's the eye candy for the day. The weather, Thank you God, has become more manageable after our scorching heat wave. This morning was cloudy and delightful.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Love and peace to all my fellow bead-heads!

It's official
I'm back to being a teacher!!! Yay!!!! Starting Wednesday, I'll be a high school Res/Inclusion English teacher. I'm stoked and scared, but good, healthy scared. My health will be happy as well. I'll be back to 187 days, praise GOD. Also, back to being a little fish in a big pond. One campus, not all the crazy driving. I've been cleaning out my desk the last two days. I thought at one point I was going to have to call Hoarders Anonymous. Geesh, what is with all the saving crap. Also, I have amassed quite an educational pedagogy library, somehow.
More creative time. I see some craft fairs in my future. Teenagers are fantastic too. So immortal and full of hope. Their unbridled potential is inspiring.
I think I should blog my first year back at a campus.....hmmm. Whatayathink..... Yep, I'm doing it.
My back to the classroom blog
Peace and love, beadheads!

Okay, I don't know what the hey hey is going on with Google today, but whatever. In El Paso the site probably is in the ER recovering from heat exhaustion. OMG. I know, quit whining Elizabeth, but not only is it hotter than Satan's kitchen, but it is forcasted to be HOTTER next week. Egads!!
O well. Above I have posted a link to a you tube video on slip knots, or adjustable knots for bracelets and necklaces. Not having been a girl scout or Indian guide or ANYKIND of camper (I'm Elizabeth and I DO NOT camp), I've never learned to tie knots, so this video was a God send. I always make stuff too long or too short...hold that thought, must move laundry to dryer....I'm back, and I need to make things adjustable. Also, I was not blessed with prehensile, piano playing hands. I have bricklayer hands: utilitarian but not supile. Plus, the tutor (Kate Drew-Wilkinson) has this amazingly soothing British accent that would make reading the phone book interesting and she made me just have to try at it again...
Anyway, thought this would help someone besides me...
Happy week. Peace and love to my fellow BeadHeads
